Research Information
Sermorelin is a synthetic 29-amino-acid peptide representing the active N-terminal fragment of human growth-hormone releasing hormone (GHRH 1-29). It's studied for its role in GHRH receptor research. Because it's effectively the minimal active GHRH sequence, researchers use it as a reference compound for studying receptor binding and signalling without the rest of the native 44-amino-acid GHRH molecule. Most published work has used pituitary cell models to examine binding affinity and downstream cyclic AMP signalling.
Research areas
- GHRH receptor binding affinity studies
- Pituitary cell-line research
- Minimal-active-sequence reference studies
- Cyclic AMP signalling pathway research
Analytical methods
Identity and purity are typically confirmed at source by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and mass spectrometry. HelixCore products are batch tested for identity and purity as standard.
Storage and handling
Store lyophilised at -20°C, away from moisture and direct light. Once reconstituted, store at 2–8°C and use within the timeframe specified on the source datasheet.
For Research Use Only. Not for human or veterinary use.
Batch tested
Every batch is tested for identity and purity (98%+) before it reaches our UK stock.
UK dispatch
UK-stocked. Orders placed before 2pm dispatch the same business day via Royal Mail Tracked 24. Free UK shipping over £75. We ship to UK addresses only.
